Bachelorette trips to the Maldives are usually organised by the maid of honour or a close friend, for a group of four to ten before the wedding, sometimes a hen do, sometimes one last trip together. The real decision isn't the destination, it's the shape: one villa the whole group shares, or separate rooms across a resort large enough that nobody has to agree on one itinerary.
For a tighter group, a multi-bedroom villa or a boutique island with a handful of residences keeps everyone under one roof. For a bigger or looser-knit group, scale matters more: enough restaurants and bars that four or five nights don't repeat, and enough distance from a resort's family wing that the trip still feels like its own thing.
What makes an island right
Villa size, not villa count
The group rarely wants ten separate bookings scattered across a resort. Check for multi-bedroom villas (two-, three- or seven-bedroom stock) or a small island with few enough residences that the whole group can walk to breakfast together.
Bar and restaurant count
The nights matter as much as the beach. A resort's named bars and restaurants are a real tell for how many different rooms the group ends up in before repeating a venue.
Adult-leaning space
The resort doesn't need to be adults-only, but an adults-only pool, a 15-plus sub-resort, or a boutique island with a short villa roster changes the daytime feel considerably from a family-heavy resort.
Transfer time against trip length
A short trip loses more of itself to a 70-90 minute seaplane than a longer stay does. Weigh the transfer against how many nights the group has actually booked.
One standout night
Most groups want at least one dinner worth building the trip around, underwater, in a wine cellar, on a sandbank, worth checking a resort's named venues for rather than assuming any private dining slot will do.

Scale vs. intimacy

Buyout cost vs. shared resort
A full-island buyout puts the group in sole control of the island, priced accordingly; a shared resort is the more usual booking and still delivers a private villa or wing.
All-inclusive simplicity vs. paying as you go
An all-inclusive plan removes the running tab from a week of shared bar bills and makes the split predictable before anyone flies; paying as you go keeps every venue and vintage open but leaves the group settling a variable bill at the end.
When to go
For dependable sun on sandbank days and calm water for photos, December through April is the safer bet, though it's also the Maldives' priciest season for a villa large enough to sleep the whole group. May through November brings brief afternoon showers rather than washed-out days, quieter resorts, and better rates on multi-bedroom villas, worth weighing if the group is splitting the cost of the trip rather than each booking separately.
Which villas work
For a shared trip, multi-bedroom villas do the most work: Sirru Fen Fushi's two- and three-bedroom pool villas, up to a seven-bedroom Residence, put the whole group in one residence. Where multi-bedroom stock isn't listed, book adjoining one-bedroom villas instead and treat a resort's bar and restaurant count as the real substitute for shared living space. How far in advance should we book a Maldives bachelorette trip?
Multi-bedroom villas and full-island buyouts are limited inventory and book out earlier than standard villa categories, particularly across the December-to-April peak season. We'd suggest starting the shortlist conversation as soon as the wedding date fixes the rough travel window.
