Before you book
How do we get to Constance Moofushi, and how long does it take?
By seaplane from Velana International, about 35 minutes. Guests arriving after 15:30 are booked a one-night Malé layover and fly out the next morning; arrivals before 15:30 are checked in the same day. The Constance lounge at the airport is open until 21:00 with Wi-Fi and refreshments while you wait for a seat.
What does the all-inclusive package actually cover?
Both restaurants — Manta's buffet and Alizée's à la carte room — run on an all-inclusive basis, along with 125-plus wine references from a cellar of over 15,000 bottles. A further list of 700-plus premium labels is available at a supplement, and excursions such as the sandbank experience and sunset dhoni cruise are paid extras rather than part of the package.
Is Moofushi geared toward couples, or does it work for families too?
It isn't marketed as adults-only or as a dedicated family island — there's no children's club, but both restaurants carry kids' food options and babysitting can be arranged. Couples are the more natural fit, particularly for the sandbank and moonlight dining experiences; families with older, confident swimmers and divers do well here too.
How good is the diving and the house reef?
This is one of the more serious dive addresses in the Maldives. The house reef sits about 15 metres from the beach with stingrays and lionfish on it, and the on-site Bluetribe centre — a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre — has been ranked the Maldives' top operator for diver training since it opened in 2010. Around 30 dive sites lie 15-20 minutes out by boat, including Bojamodhi Manta Point, best during manta season.
When's the best time to see mantas or whale sharks?
Seasonal Manta Ray Snorkelling runs January to May, when mantas of 3-6 metres are found by dhoni. The Whale Shark Snorkelling Adventure heads out to Maamigili Kandu at the southern tip of the atoll, and nurse sharks — around 50 encountered at once — are a year-round, twice-weekly speedboat excursion.
Which villa category should we book?
Beach and Sand villas (57-66 sqm) sit on the beach; Water villas (66 sqm) stand on stilts over the lagoon with steps straight down into it. The Senior Sand and Senior Water categories add roughly 28 extra square metres, an outdoor bathtub, double vanities and a Bose speaker — worth it if that outdoor tub matters, since the standard categories don't have one.
