Recommended For

Families

CoolZone Kids Club runs from age 3, the family residences carry their own pools sized for children, and the all-inclusive plan already covers kids per their villa's occupancy — JA Manafaru is built for a family week, not just tolerant of one.

Honeymooners & couples

A treehouse table for two, a subterranean wine cave, and a dedicated Blessing Ceremonies & Honeymoons programme give couples plenty to book around, even on an island that's just as busy with families.

Divers

33 mapped dive sites, a named Manta Point, a wreck dive and a 95% chance of repeat house-reef sightings make this one of the more serious dive programmes among the Maldives' all-inclusive islands.

Before you book

How do we get to JA Manafaru, and how long does the transfer take?

The main route is seaplane — 70 to 90 minutes from Velana International Airport direct to the resort's own jetty, with two daily departure windows in high season (10:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-4pm) and one in low season; a limited number of seats are shared with Hideaway Beach Resort, the other resort on this atoll. The alternative is a domestic flight to Hanimaadhoo, Kulhudhuffushi or Hoarafushi followed by a speedboat — Hoarafushi is closest, at just 10 minutes by boat once you land. Private seaplane charters and a private-jet routing via Maafaru International Airport are both available for a supplement.

What's actually included in the all-inclusive plan?

Daily breakfast at Kakuni, a 3-course lunch at Kakuni or Andiamo Bistro and Pool, and a 3-course dinner rotating between Ocean Grill, White Orchid, Andiamo and Kakuni, plus daily sundowners at Veli Bar and daily replenishment of your in-villa personal bar. The Cellar and in-villa dining — floating breakfasts, afternoon teas, destination dining — sit outside the plan and are booked and paid separately.

Is JA Manafaru better suited to couples or families?

Genuinely both. CoolZone Kids Club runs from age 3, the Deluxe Beach Villa and the residences are sized and pooled for families, and the all-inclusive plan already covers children per their villa's stated occupancy. For couples, Kuri – Treehouse Dining seats only one or two, and the resort runs a dedicated Blessing Ceremonies & Honeymoons programme for weddings, vow renewals and anniversaries.

What's the reef and diving like?

Lagoon and coral gardens circle the whole island, and JA Manafaru estimates a 95% chance of diving its own house reef more than once during a stay. Beyond the house reef, the PADI-certified dive centre runs trips to 33 mapped sites, including a named Manta Point (Vagaaru Garden), a Nurse Shark site, and the Filladhoo Wreck — 90% of sites are reachable on a half-day trip, and a Nitrox 30% mix is standard.

The villa sizes I've seen online don't match — which is right?

There's a genuine discrepancy in JA's own materials for the two largest residences: the official factsheet lists 1,600 sqm and 2,022 sqm for the Two and Three Bedroom Beach Residences, while the live website quotes 1,400 sqm and 5,800 sqm for the same two categories. We use the factsheet's figures here, since its per-category unit count adds up correctly to the resort's stated total of 84 villas — but we'd confirm the exact footprint with the resort directly before booking either residence.

Do we need to book The Cellar or Kuri Treehouse Dining in advance?

Yes — The Cellar, Ocean Grill's evenings, White Orchid's dinner service, and Kuri Treehouse Dining (which seats only one or two couples) are all reservations-only or advance-booking venues. We build these into your itinerary before arrival rather than leaving them to chance on-island, especially Kuri, given its very limited nightly capacity.
