Is this still the Fairmont Maldives we've heard of?
Not officially — the property has moved away from Fairmont/Accor branding and now operates independently as Sirru Fen Fushi, Private Lagoon Resort, a member of Leading Hotels of the World. The island, villas and dining line-up are unchanged; only the flag has come down.
Does the resort publish fixed meal plans?
No board-basis packages (bed-and-breakfast, half-board and so on) are published on the resort's own site — dining runs à la carte across eight venues, from the all-day Raha Market to in-villa dining available around the clock. IMJ confirms the meal-plan options open for your specific dates when we book.
Is Sirru Fen Fushi good for families?
Yes — children under 12 stay, dine and fly free on a minimum five-night stay, and the Kids' Club runs programming for ages 4 to 12 alongside cooking workshops, an art studio, tennis and badminton. A separate 50-metre serenity pool is kept adults-only for guests travelling without children.
How good is the house reef and diving here?
The house reef runs 9 kilometres around the island's lagoon, with more than 20 dive sites, reef sharks, rays, turtles and a seasonal manta presence. The resort's dive centre runs SSI-certified courses, and around 40 resident sea turtles nest on the island with seasonal hatchling releases.
