Coco Bodu Hithi

Coco Bodu Hithi pairs a 35-minute speedboat transfer with four distinct restaurants, an underground wine cellar, and a house reef the resort rates among North Malé Atoll's best — a couples-focused island that leads with its kitchens as much as its water villas.

6 categories

Ninety-eight villas and residences span six categories on Bodu Hithi, a North Malé Atoll island 35 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. Four restaurants — the overwater seafood room Aqua and the Japanese venue Tsuki among them — sit alongside an underground Wine Loft, a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre, and a house reef the resort calls one of the atoll's best. Honeymoon awards run back to back, though a Kids' Corner keeps the island from being adults-only.

Honeymooners

Divers and snorkellers

A PADI 5-Star Dive Centre, an on-island Marine Biology Centre, and a house reef the resort itself rates among North Malé Atoll's best, with Turtle Point 15 minutes out and Eagle Rays and Nurse Sharks seen year-round.

Families

A Kids' Corner is listed among the island's facilities, though the factsheet gives no age range or programme detail — worth confirming exactly what's on offer before booking with young children.

Before you book

How do we get to Coco Bodu Hithi, and how long does the transfer take?

It's 35 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport to the island in North Malé Atoll. There's no seaplane involved, so there's no daylight-only flight window to plan international arrivals around.

What meal plans does the resort offer?

Four options: Bed and Breakfast, Half Board, Full Board, and All-Inclusive. With four restaurants and two bars on the island, Half Board or Full Board is worth weighing against how many nights you'll want to range across Air, Aqua, Stars and Tsuki.

Is Coco Bodu Hithi a couples-only resort, or does it take children?

It markets heavily to couples — back-to-back honeymoon awards and a private-experiences list built for two — but a Kids' Corner is listed among the island's facilities, so families are welcome too. The factsheet doesn't give an age range or programme detail for it, so we'd confirm specifics before booking with young children.

How good is the house reef, really?

The resort's own materials call it one of North Malé Atoll's best, backed by a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre and an on-island Marine Biology Centre. Turtle Point, 15 minutes away, is a regular Hawksbill Turtle sighting spot, and Eagle Rays and Nurse Sharks are commonly seen year-round, with reef Manta Rays in season.

Which villa category should we book?

All six categories include a private pool. Water Villa with Pool is the smallest overwater option at 109 sqm for two adults; Escape Water Villa with Pool steps up to 144 sqm for two adults and two children, or three adults. Beach Villa with Pool and the single Grand Premier Beach Villa with Pool are the beachfront options, the latter the island's largest villa at 198 sqm.

What's the Wine Loft, and is it worth visiting?

It's the island's second bar — an underground cellar space distinct from Latitude Bar's main pool deck. The resort names it specifically among its signature features, alongside a kitchen culture that includes hands-on staff training from Michelin-starred chefs.
