Teen Club / Lounge

A teen club or teen lounge is the roughly-12-and-up counterpart to a resort's kids' club — a separate space built around gaming, billiards, table tennis and social hangout rather than crafts and splash pools. It's one of the more unevenly offered family facilities in the Maldives: plenty of resorts run a good kids' club, but a genuine, dedicated teen space is rarer, so it's worth confirming before you book with an early or older teenager.

Where it exists, the format varies more than the kids' club does. Hard Rock Hotel Maldives runs an explicitly adult-free Teen Club®, ages 12–17, open daily 10:00–18:00, in keeping with its music-and-entertainment identity. Jawakara Islands' Jawa Teen Club leans into activity programming rather than a lounge alone — a golf academy, water polo, pool zumba, fishing trips and Boduberu drumming classes alongside the usual games room. Cheval Blanc Randheli's Le Paddock takes a third approach: billiards, table football and a multimedia area, positioned near the watersports centre with access to the surf simulator.

A few properties push past the standard lounge format. Avani+ Fares keeps its teens' club open 24 hours a day. The Nautilus Maldives runs a programme it calls "Young Adults," aimed at Gen-Z guests rather than a conventional early-teen club — useful if you're travelling with an older teenager who'd rather skip 12-year-olds. Where a teen offering is confirmed with real detail, we note it below; where a club exists but we only have the fact of it, we say so rather than invent specifics.

Good to know

Age bands cluster around 12–17

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island's Furaavaru Teens' Club runs 12–16, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives' Teen Club® runs 12–17, and Sun Siyam Iru Fushi's Teens Club covers roughly the same 12–16 band.

Confirm it exists before booking

A genuine, dedicated teen space is rarer than a kids' club — a resort advertising a "kids' club" doesn't guarantee a teen-specific one, so check the specific property.

Hours range from a fixed slot to round-the-clock

Hard Rock Hotel Maldives' Teen Club® runs a set 10:00–18:00 daily, while Avani+ Fares keeps its teens' club open 24 hours — there's no standard across resorts, so confirm hours for your property.

Some layer sports or excursions on top

Jawakara Islands' Jawa Teen Club adds a golf academy, water polo and fishing trips; Cheval Blanc Randheli's Le Paddock includes access to the surf simulator.

Before you book

Which Maldives resorts have a dedicated teen club?

A genuine, dedicated teen space — as opposed to a kids' club that simply admits older children — is confirmed at a defined set of resorts we track, including Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, Jawakara Islands, Cheval Blanc Randheli, Avani+ Fares, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Six Senses Kanuhura and Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, among others in the roster below. A resort advertising a "kids' club" on its own doesn't guarantee a teen-specific one, so check the specific property.

What age range do teen clubs cover?

It varies by resort. Conrad Maldives Rangali Island's Furaavaru Teens' Club runs ages 12–16, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives' Teen Club® runs 12–17, and Sun Siyam Iru Fushi's Teens Club covers roughly the same 12–16 band. Joali Being extends its family programming to teens up to age 16. If your child sits right at the edge of a stated range, it's worth confirming directly with that resort before booking.

How is a teen club different from a kids' club?

The two are normally run as separate, physically distinct spaces with different content. A kids' club is play- and craft-based and welcomes younger children; a teen club or lounge suits teenagers instead — billiards, table tennis, gaming consoles, movie nights and social lounges, adult-free at some resorts and open to adults at others — with some layering sports or excursion programming on top, like Jawakara Islands' golf academy and fishing trips or Cheval Blanc Randheli's surf-simulator access.

How do I find out if a resort's teen club suits my teenager?

Tell us the ages you're travelling with and we'll shortlist resorts with a genuine, dedicated teen space rather than just a kids' club that technically admits older children. The details differ enough between a games-room lounge and an activity-led programme that it's worth matching the resort to what your teen actually wants to do before you book.
