Jawakara Islands Maldives spans Mabin and Dheru, two islands in Lhaviyani Atoll joined by a 650-metre bridge over the Jawakara House Reef. Its 290 villas run across four categories from beachfront Beach Villas to overwater Water Pool Villas, backed by six restaurants, a four-tier meal plan up to Premium All-Inclusive, Jawa Kids and Teen Clubs, and the Maldives' first dedicated Sea Turtle Health Institute.

The villas

Beach Villa

The entry-tier category on either island — beachfront, no pool, and with 110 villas between Mabin and Dheru, the largest single villa category at the resort.

Beach Pool Villa

A larger beachfront villa than the Beach Villa — 101 sqm against 78 — with a private pool added, the mid-tier pick for guests who want their own water without paying for an overwater setting.

Three Bedroom Villa

The family category, and the one place the two islands genuinely diverge — Mabin's runs 197 sqm for up to 4 people and 2 children with no private pool, while Dheru's is considerably larger at 285 sqm, sleeps up to 6 people and 4 children, and comes with its own infinity pool.

Recommended For

Families

Jawa Kids Club runs free under Premium All-Inclusive for ages 4–17, and the Jawa Teen Club gives older kids their own programme alongside two Three Bedroom Villa categories — one with its own pool on Dheru — that give bigger groups room without splitting across separate villas.

Divers and snorkellers

Prodivers runs a PADI 5-star operation across more than 50 Lhaviyani Atoll dive sites, and the house reef itself sits directly beneath the resort's own bridge, close enough that a guided snorkel doesn't need a boat.

Couples and honeymooners

The resort markets itself for romance as much as family holidays, and Umi's bridge-top dining room over the reef is the kind of table that works for an anniversary dinner without needing a private charter.

Before you book

How do I get to Jawakara Islands Maldives from Malé?

By seaplane, roughly 35 minutes from Velana International Airport. On arrival, CCR staff assist with Immigration and check-in at the TMA seaplane counter, then guests are taken to the TMA Terminal, where the Vilu lounge — an air-conditioned indoor area or an al-fresco deck, with food and drink for purchase and free Wi-Fi — is available while the seaplane is called.

What meal plans does Jawakara offer?

Four options: Half Board, Full Board, Breakfast Only, and Premium All-Inclusive (PAI). PAI guests dine at Saima, Aila or Vela — whichever buffet sits closest to their villa — with a Dine Around benefit added every 5 nights (one 3-course lunch and one 3-course dinner at an à la carte restaurant, pre-booking required) plus standing access to all three buffet restaurants.

Is Jawakara set up for families, or is it more of a couples resort?

Both, deliberately. Jawa Kids Club (ages 4–17, free under Premium All-Inclusive) runs from Mabin Island — a walk across the resort's own 650-metre bridge for families staying on Dheru — alongside the Jawa Teen Club and two Three Bedroom Villa categories built for family groups. The resort also markets itself for honeymoons and romance, so it isn't zoned into a strict adults/family split the way some two-island resorts are — couples and families share the same six restaurants and bars.

What's the house reef and diving like?

The Jawakara House Reef runs directly beneath the 650-metre bridge connecting Mabin and Dheru, with Umi restaurant built over it. Prodivers, a PADI 5-star centre, runs guided diving and snorkelling across more than 50 sites in Lhaviyani Atoll — overhangs, caves, thilas and channels — with turtles, rays, sharks and seasonal mantas. Children as young as 8 can join diving activities.

What does the Premium All-Inclusive package actually include?

Dine Around access across all six restaurants (on the cadence above), unlimited drinks at three of the bars, a welcome bottle of Champagne per villa, one sunset dolphin cruise per stay, complimentary lessons in golf driving range, snorkelling and windsurfing, free use of Jawa Kids Club for ages 4–17, and one bag of laundry per stay.

What is the Sea Turtle Health Institute?

A dedicated sea turtle veterinary and conservation facility on Mabin Island — the Maldives' first — run jointly by Jawakara and the Olive Ridley Project, with round hospital tanks for rescuing, treating and rehabilitating injured turtles. It also hosts a Sea Turtle Veterinary Assistant Diploma Programme with the Maldives National University. Guests can join a 30-minute guided tour or 'adopt' a resident turtle.
