Before you book

How do we get to Kuredhivaru, and how long is the transfer?

By round-trip seaplane from Velana International Airport in Malé, a scenic flight of about 45 minutes over Noonu Atoll to the resort's own island.

Is this still the Mövenpick Maldives we've read about?

The island is the same, but the branding is mid-transition. The property opened as Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives; it now operates as Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa Maldives under Accor's Ennismore group, and trade press points to an eventual move to the Mondrian name. IMJ confirms the resort's live branding at the time of booking.

What villa categories are available, and do they all have private pools?

Six categories: three overwater — Lagoon, Sunrise and Ocean — at 140 square metres each, two beach categories — Sunset and Deluxe — at 190 square metres, and the 230-square-metre Four Bedroom Beach Pool Residence for up to eight guests. All six carry 'Pool' in the category name and a private pool on the deck.

What's the snorkelling and diving like?

The resort runs a dedicated diving centre, a watersports centre and a snorkelling platform on the island itself, putting the reef within a short walk of any villa. IMJ confirms current dive-site and course details directly with the resort's team before booking.

Is Kuredhivaru suited to families, or is it more of a couples' retreat?

Both — the resort's own positioning names couples and families equally. A kids' club runs family-friendly activities and its own meals, two swimming pools serve the wider resort, and villa categories run from couples' overwater villas up to an eight-guest beach residence.

What dining options are there, and are meal plans included?

Five venues: Destination Dining for private set-ups, Bodumas for seafood, Latitude 5.5 poolside, the market-style ONU Marché for all-day dining, and in-villa dining through the Island Host. The resort's own site does not publish fixed board-basis packages — IMJ confirms the meal-plan options open for your dates when we book.
