How do we get to The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives, and how long does the transfer take?
It's a seaplane flight from Velana International Airport (MLE) — The Standard's own site describes it only as 'a short seaplane ride' and doesn't publish an exact duration, so IMJ confirms the timing once flights are booked. A private guest lounge with snacks and games is available airside while you wait. Email full traveler names (as they appear on your passport) and your arrival/departure flight numbers at least 7 days ahead for the smoothest seaplane timing; if your international flight lands in Malé before 15:00, a same-day seaplane can usually be arranged instead.
What's the house reef and snorkelling like?
The house reef is described as a 'thriving marine sanctuary' right off the island, with the Ocean Overwater and Ocean Beach Villa categories sitting just a few metres from it. On-site snorkelling trips run directly off the reef and include turtle excursions, and seasonal swimming-with-manta-rays excursions head out to nearby Hanifaru Bay. The Standard's own site doesn't name a dive operator or state a PADI affiliation for its 'Water Sports & Dive Experiences' programme — IMJ confirms current dive arrangements before booking.
