Families

Ritz Kids runs a genuine program across four age-appropriate pillars, Beach Shack is built as the barefoot family table, and the Two Bedroom and Estate villas give a family real separation rather than a connecting door.

Divers and the ocean-curious

A resident Marine Biologist runs the Dive Center's programs, guided 'Cities Under the Sea' snorkeling, and the dolphin cruise — a resort built around its marine team, not just its reef.

Seclusion seekers

The Fari Islands run on shared energy — Fari Marina Village sits a short ride from every resort in the archipelago, this one included. For guests who measure a stay in total privacy, we'd sooner show them Cheval Blanc Randheli or Soneva Fushi.

Before you book

How do we get to The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands?

By on-demand speedboat only — the resort runs roundtrip transfers from Velana International Airport 24 hours a day, so there's no seaplane daylight window to plan around. The transfer fee is USD 1,027 net per adult and USD 514 net per child, inclusive of 10% service charge and 17% government tax. The resort's own site doesn't publish an exact minutes figure for the crossing; IMJ confirms current timing directly with the resort when booking.

Is this a good resort for families?

Yes — Ritz Kids runs programming for ages 4 to 12 built around land, water, environmental responsibility and culture, with its own outdoor pool open 9:00am to 9:00pm, playgrounds, napping pods and video games, and babysitting is available on request. Beach Shack, the barefoot Mediterranean venue by the water, is built specifically as the family-friendly table. The Two Bedroom Villas and the four-bedroom Ritz-Carlton Estate give larger family groups genuine separation.

What diving and watersports are on offer?

The Dive Center runs watersports, diving and marine biology programs under a resident Marine Biologist, including the guided 'Cities Under the Sea' snorkeling program and a Dhoni Sunset Dolphin Cruise. Fari Marina Village, a short ride away, also runs its own Fari Lagoon Coral Adoption & Marine Biology Center. Kayaking, volleyball and a lit tennis court with a resident pro round out the sports program.

What villa categories does the resort offer, and is there something for larger groups?

Nine villa categories run from one-bedroom Ocean and Lagoon Pool Villas through Two Bedroom Overwater and Beach Pool Villas. For larger groups, The Ritz-Carlton Estate offers a secluded four-bedroom beach-cove residence across 16,000+ sq ft of private grounds, with its own kitchen, sundeck dining and a dedicated Aris Meeha butler — the same butler service every villa category carries.

What dining options are there?

Seven venues: La Locanda (Southern Italian), Summer Pavilion (Cantonese), IWAU (Japanese, Chef's Table), EAU Bar (day-to-night around the round infinity pool), Beach Shack (family-friendly Mediterranean), Arabesque (Middle Eastern) and Tum Tum, a casual street-food spot at Fari Marina Village. Exact service hours aren't published on the resort's site — IMJ confirms current hours and books tables as part of the itinerary.

What's the spa like?

The Ritz-Carlton Spa is a ring-shaped sanctuary built over the lagoon, with nine treatment rooms — including a spa suite with its own relaxation lounge — arranged along the cardinal directions, plus a salon and boutique. Treatments use an organic Bamford body and skincare collection, with signatures including the 150-minute Bamford Signature Journey, a Bamboo Massage and the Maldivian Signature Rejuvenation. The Ritz-Carlton Gym and yoga studio operate 24 hours a day alongside it.
