Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives

A private-island resort built around two headline draws — the largest swimming pool in the Maldives and direct access to Chicken's Break, the country's longest left-hand barrel surf wave — that plays equally to families at the pool and dedicated surfers at the reef.

Before you book

How do I get to Kuda Villingili, and how long does the transfer take?

It's a 30-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport, with transfers available around the clock. Wi-Fi and welcome amenities begin on the boat, and return speedboat transfers are complimentary on the resort's Ultra Luxury All-Inclusive package.

What meal plans are available?

The headline plan is Ultra Luxury All-Inclusive (offer code KVMUAI, minimum 4 nights): complimentary breakfast at The Restaurant, three-course lunch at Med, Spice, East or Mar-Umi, three-course dinner at Spice, East, Earth, Fire, Ocean or Mar-Umi (Teppanyaki excluded), unlimited beverages 11:00–23:00 including over 100 wines and three Champagne labels, and a minibar restocked every other day. It also bundles complimentary non-motorised watersports, a one-time lobster experience at Ocean, and a Cigar Lounge whiskey-and-chocolate or rum pairing session. We confirm current plan terms with the resort at booking.

Is Kuda Villingili good for families, and is there a kids' club?

Yes. Kuda Fiyo Island Playground runs a weekly programme of games and workshops — spoon races, crab discovery, landscape painting, treasure hunts — and the main 150-metre pool has a shallow splash zone plus a poolside kids' happy hour from 16:00 to 18:00 on the Ultra Luxury All-Inclusive package. Up to two children under 12 stay free with complimentary meals from the kids' menu, and the Two, Three and Four Bedroom Beach categories are built for family groups of up to 12.

What's the house reef and snorkelling like?

Kuda Villingili doesn't market an in-house house reef — snorkelling and diving here run as boat excursions to nearby sites, including weekly guided snorkelling trips where manta rays, reef sharks and coral reefs are commonly seen. The resort's watersports and dive centre handles equipment and bookings; we check current site conditions with the resort before travel.

What's included in a villa stay?

Every villa and residence carries Wi-Fi, a private patio or beach cabana, an espresso machine, a minibar, turndown service, butler service and an in-room wine cellar as standard. Three and Four Bedroom Residences add a private living room, dining area and fully stocked professional kitchen. What's included at the table depends on your meal plan — see our meal-plan answer above.

What's the surf season, and do beginners get lessons?

Surf season runs roughly April to October. Chicken's Break, the Maldives' longest left-hand barrel wave, sits directly off the island alongside five further breaks, and beginners get lessons with certified instructors at a dedicated learner break, Baby Chickens.
