Floating & Aerial Yoga
"Floating and aerial yoga" covers two distinct formats resort spas file under one heading: yoga suspended in a fabric hammock above a studio or deck floor (aerial, sometimes branded anti-gravity), and yoga practised on the water itself, usually on a paddleboard or a stabilised floating platform. Both trade the fixed mat for something that moves, using the hammock's give or the water's instability to open stretches a floor class doesn't reach. It's a slot on the resort's group-class timetable, run out of the spa or fitness centre, not a private treatment.
The aerial version tends to sit inside fitness programming — Kandima's BURN Fitness Centre lists aerial yoga among its round-the-clock group classes alongside TRX and kickboxing, while St. Regis Maldives Vommuli treats it as a spa offering, running anti-gravity yoga at the Yogasala, an open-air pavilion built for up to eight guests. The water-based version leans spa-side too: Anantara Kihavah runs aerial overwater yoga and stand-up paddleboard yoga from its Anantara Spa's own overwater deck, and LUX* South Ari Atoll's Floating Yoga sits inside LUX* Me Spa's wider group-class roster, alongside a separate sea-view yoga grove.
Because it's scheduled rather than on demand, sessions run on a published weekly roster and aren't necessarily on every day — worth checking the current week rather than assuming. Tell us if it matters to your trip and we'll confirm timing before you travel.

Runs on a published schedule
Floating and aerial yoga sit inside the spa or fitness centre's group-class timetable rather than being available on demand — sessions aren't necessarily on every day, so check the current week's roster rather than assuming.
Age policy can apply
LUX* South Ari Atoll's LUX* Me Spa, home of its Floating Yoga class, is a 16-plus space (09:00–20:00) — confirm the age policy first if you're travelling with teens.
Sign up on island, not months ahead
Booking typically runs through the spa reception or activity desk once you're on island rather than being reserved in advance — tell us if it's a priority and we'll flag it when building your itinerary.

Before you book
What's the difference between floating yoga and aerial yoga?
Aerial yoga suspends you in a fabric hammock above a studio or deck floor — Kandima's BURN Fitness Centre and St. Regis Maldives Vommuli's Yogasala (which calls it anti-gravity yoga) both run this version. Floating yoga instead moves the practice onto the water's surface, typically a paddleboard or stabilised platform — Anantara Kihavah's stand-up paddleboard yoga and LUX* South Ari Atoll's Floating Yoga class are this format. Anantara Kihavah actually runs both, aerial overwater yoga and SUP yoga, from the same spa deck.
Which Maldives resorts have floating or aerial yoga?
We have specific detail confirmed at Anantara Kihavah (aerial overwater yoga and SUP yoga from Anantara Spa's overwater deck), Kandima (aerial yoga through BURN Fitness Centre), LUX* South Ari Atoll (Floating Yoga within LUX* Me Spa's group classes), Milaidhoo (aerial yoga alongside oceanfront sessions at Serenity Spa), Niyama Private Islands (floating yoga and the oceanfront Flow yoga pavilion) and St. Regis Maldives Vommuli (anti-gravity yoga at the Yogasala). See the roster below for what's confirmed at each resort we work with.
Is floating or aerial yoga included in my stay, or does it cost extra?
It varies by resort and isn't something we can state as a blanket rule — most run it as one line inside a broader group-class or wellness programme rather than a standalone paid treatment, which typically puts it on the same footing as other complimentary classes, but terms differ by property and season. Tell us which resort you're considering and we'll confirm current inclusion terms when we build your itinerary.
How do I book a floating or aerial yoga session?
These run on the spa or fitness centre's own group-class schedule rather than as something reserved months ahead — sign-up is typically handled through the resort's spa reception or activity desk once you're on island. If it's a priority for your trip, tell us and we'll flag it when building your itinerary so it's on your radar for the right day of the week.

Tell us the occasion, and we’ll find the island.
