A 50-villa boutique island in the Baa Atoll biosphere, built around Maldivian-architect-designed villas and a resident marine biologist's reef programme, a short seaplane hop from Hanifaru Bay.

Milaidhoo sits on a 300-by-180-metre island in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a short seaplane hop from the world-famous Hanifaru Bay. Architect Mohamed "Sappe" Shafeeq designed all 50 villas and residences to open 180 degrees onto the water, and the resort keeps a resident marine biologist on staff alongside a coral restoration programme and a house reef where manta rays and whale sharks appear in season.

How long is the transfer to Milaidhoo, and is there a speedboat option?
Milaidhoo is reached by a 35-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport — the factsheet lists no speedboat or domestic-flight alternative, so every arrival and departure runs on the seaplane's daylight schedule.
Does Milaidhoo welcome children?
Children over the age of 8 are welcomed; the factsheet does not set out a separate policy for younger children, which reads as a minimum-age house rule rather than a strict adults-only resort. Families travelling with younger children should confirm current policy directly before booking.
How good is the house reef at Milaidhoo?
The house reef is described as outstanding and lively, with seasonal snorkelling alongside manta rays and whale sharks. A resident marine biologist and a coral restoration sponsorship programme support the reef, and the world-famous Hanifaru Bay is a short trip away in the same Baa Atoll biosphere.
What dining is included, and what are the venues?
Milaidhoo runs four restaurants — Ba'theli by the Reef, Shoreline Grill, Ocean Restaurant and Azure — plus Compass Pool Bar and in-villa dining available 24 hours a day. Ba'theli by the Reef is the signature venue, specialising in gourmet local-island cuisine inspired by the Maldivian Spice Route.
Which villa category suits a family or group of six?
Most of Milaidhoo's villas — the Water Pool Villa, Beach Pool Villa and Beach Residence categories — sleep up to 3 guests each. The Two Bedroom Ocean Residence is the exception: a single 564-square-metre overwater residence with an oversized pool, built to sleep up to 6.
Is Milaidhoo good for diving and watersports?
Yes — Milaidhoo runs a PADI 5-star dive centre alongside snorkelling and non-motorised watersports, plus an "Ocean Stories" aquatic centre. Fishing and dolphin cruises, yacht cruises, traditional dhoni cruises and a nearby local-island tour are also on offer.
