By speedboat only — a 45-minute ride from Velana International Airport to the resort's three bridge-connected islands in South Malé Atoll. There is no seaplane option for this resort.
Is Olhuveli a family resort or an adults-only resort?
Both, run as separate zones. Main and Dream Islands are family-friendly, with the Maakanaa Kidz Club, while Romance Island operates independently as TUI BLUE Olhuveli Romance, an entirely adults-only wing with its own restaurants, bars and spa. What does the Maakanaa Kidz Club offer, and what ages does it take?
It's open daily from 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–22:00 for children aged three to twelve (under three must be accompanied), with a kids' pool and indoor and outdoor play areas. No food is served except for hands-on activities like cookie and cupcake decorating; babysitting can be arranged with 12 hours' notice for an additional charge.
How good is the house reef and the diving here?
The resort states access to a vibrant house reef and numerous nearby dive sites, run through three SSI-certified dive centres, one per island. Marine sightings noted include whale shark, nurse shark and manta ray, alongside three water-sports centres for kitesurfing, windsurfing and other board sports.
How many restaurants are there, and do any need reservations?
Over 24 dining and drinking venues resort-wide, spread across the three islands. Most are walk-in buffet or à la carte rooms, but a handful — Teppanyaki's eight-seat counter and Culinarium's mid-sea jetty table among them — take reservations only, and Culinarium is closed on Wednesdays.
