How do you get to JOALI Maldives, and how long does the transfer take?
JOALI sits on Muravandhoo Island in Raa Atoll, reached by a 45-minute shared seaplane flight from Velana International Airport; a Private Seaplane Charter is also available for a faster, more private crossing. Seaplanes fly daylight hours only, and pre-arranged transfers include use of a private airport lounge before departure.
Is JOALI Maldives good for families?
Yes — the resort runs the complimentary Muramas Kids Club daily from 9am to 7pm for ages 4-12, with a seasonal Summer Camp from 1 July to 31 August, and several villa and residence categories, the Two Bedroom Family Beach Villa with Two Pools among them, are built around multi-generation stays. Tennis, padel, football and marine activities give older children plenty to do outside club hours.
What's the diving and snorkelling like around JOALI?
Raa Atoll's deep ridge encircles the atoll's shallower plateaus, a structure the resort says favours coral and fish life; JOALI runs "Ocean Discovery" snorkelling and diving trips led by a resident marine biologist rather than leaving guests to find the reef alone. Manta ray and whale encounters and dolphin cruises are also offered as excursions.
How many restaurants does JOALI have, and do they all require reservations?
Seven venues in total. Bellinis (Italian), Saoke (Japanese) and TUH'U (Levant) are dinner-led rooms that run on selected evenings rather than nightly, so IMJ books those ahead of arrival. Vandhoo (Asian) serves breakfast and dinner daily, Mura Bar covers all-day poolside dining, La Joie serves chocolate and ice cream throughout the day, and the Wine Cellar runs tastings and pairings alongside dinner service.
Does every villa have a private pool?
Yes — JOALI's 11 villa and residence categories are each built around their own private pool, ranging from a single pool in the entry-level Water Villa with Pool to the two-pool Ocean Residence and Family Beach Villa categories. Total villa size scales with the pool, from roughly 240 sqm in the smallest water villa to 1,200 sqm in the four-bedroom beach residence.
What's included in the wellness programme at JOALI?
The JOALI BEING Cure wellness centre structures its treatments around four pillars — Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy — and supplements its resident therapists with visiting practitioners for specialised sessions. A Relaxation Lounge overlooks the centre's own beach, a Healing Garden supplies some of the ingredients used in treatments, and a separate Technogym-equipped Fitness Centre covers regular workouts.
