How do we get to Hilton Maldives Amingiri, and what does the transfer cost?
By speedboat — 20 minutes from Velana International Airport, with the resort accessible 24 hours a day. Transfer isn't optional: the resort's Required Premium Speedboat Transfer is mandatory for every guest and third-party transport arrangements aren't permitted. A shared return runs $300 per adult, $150 for ages 6–11, and is complimentary for children 5 and under; a private one-way transfer is $1,500 for up to 8 guests or $2,300 for up to 14, all exclusive of tax and service charge.
What's the snorkelling and reef access like?
The official site doesn't publish house-reef quality detail, so we wouldn't promise a specific marine-life encounter here. What's confirmed: general snorkelling and scuba diving through the resort's dive centre and watersports outlet, glass kayaks, and a glass floor panel built into every overwater villa's deck for a passive look at the water below. We'd confirm current reef conditions directly with the resort before setting expectations.
We're travelling with children — can we still book an overwater villa?
Yes, but the resort requires a signed legal waiver for children staying in an Overwater Villa — its own site recommends Beach Villas for families instead. The One Bedroom Family Beach Pool Villa, with its sofa bed for two children under 12, is the most straightforward fit if a beach setting suits the trip.
