Niva Dhigali Maldives fills a free-spirited, activity-first niche in Raa Atoll — 172 villas across twelve categories, a PLAY Kids Club built for the whole day, a EuroDivers 5-star PADI dive centre with near year-round manta sightings, and four restaurants plus a café and a pizzeria in real rotation. The Two-Bedroom Dhigali Suite tops the villa list at 400 sqm, with its own infinity pool and butler.

Families

PLAY Kids Club runs a full screen-free day from 09:00 to 18:00 for ages 4 to 12, babysitting covers 2 to 12, and a dedicated kids pool sits alongside the main one — Dhigali is built for a family week, not adapted for one.

Divers and watersports guests

A 5-star PADI dive centre run by EuroDivers, house-reef diving, near year-round mantas in Raa Atoll, and a full Splash Water Sports Centre covering everything from wakeboarding to kayaking make this a genuine activity base, not a resort with a token dive shop.

Guests wanting a slower week

Dhigali's day is built around watersports, a five-star dive centre, and six restaurants in genuine rotation; guests who'd rather have a slower, single-programme week are better served at Joali Being, its Raa Atoll neighbour.

Before you book

How do we get to Niva Dhigali, and how long does the transfer take?

Two routes exist: a scenic seaplane from Velana International Airport, or a domestic flight followed by a speedboat transfer. The resort's own factsheet doesn't publish a duration for either route, so IMJ confirms the exact timing directly with the resort once flights are booked.

Is Niva Dhigali good for families, or is it geared to adults?

It's built for families. PLAY Kids Club runs daily from 09:00 to 18:00 as a screen-free, air-conditioned space with an outdoor splash zone, staffed by a Worldwide Kids-certified team, for ages 4 to 12 (younger children are welcome with a guardian). Babysitting is available for ages 2 to 12, and there's a dedicated kids pool alongside the main one.

What dining is included, and is there a resort app?

Four restaurants plus a café and pizzeria run in genuine rotation — Capers for buffets, Jade for East and Southeast Asian, Faru for Mediterranean, Battuta for a jungle-set Indian and Middle Eastern menu, plus the all-day Café and the order-to-collect Pizzeria. A Premium All-Inclusive package lets guests dine at any à la carte restaurant, bookable through the resort's own Niva Dhigali app.

How good is the diving and the house reef?

The dive centre is run by EuroDivers, a 5-star PADI operation on the island's northern side, a short walk from the lagoon. It covers house-reef diving as well as boat trips to nearby sites, and mantas are present in Raa Atoll almost year-round — a genuine draw for guests planning their trip around diving.

What's the Two-Bedroom Dhigali Suite like?

It's the one true top-tier address on the island — 400 sqm with a gourmet kitchenette, a private infinity pool, a personalised butler, a private bar for sunset toasts, and a home theatre. It's the only villa of its kind on the property, so it's worth booking well ahead for peak dates.

What watersports and activities are included versus paid?

The factsheet doesn't itemise which watersports carry a charge, but the Splash Water Sports Centre runs windsurfing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, banana boat and tube rides, jet skis, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, alongside snorkelling trips, a sunset and dolphin cruise, glass-bottom boat outings, fishing trips, and a Castaway sandbank picnic. IMJ confirms which activities sit inside a guest's package before travel.
